Step 4: Start Using Reports

In this step, you’ll explore four key reports that help you make informed decisions for your classroom.


What You’ll Do in This Step

Become familiar with reports that enable you to:

  1. Monitor student usage
  2. Track assignment completion and performance
  3. Group students for targeted support
  4. Identify areas where students need extra practice


1: Usage Summary Report


Purpose: Make sure students are using the program regularly

What to look for: Students using the program at least 45 minutes per week

Action: Provide classroom time, and encourage home use.

Where to find this report: Report Dashboards → Usage tab → Usage Summary


2: Assignment Gradebook


Purpose: Track progress and proficiency on assignments.

What to look for:

  • Are students completing their assignments?
  • Are they showing proficiency in key skills?
  • How are they doing on writing tasks?

Action: Recognize effort and provide extra support where needed.

3: Flexible Groups Report


Purpose: Group students based on their proficiency in specific skill areas.

What to look for:

  • Skill gaps or strengths in key domains
  • Opportunities for small-group instruction

Action:

  • Use data to group students and assign targeted practice.
  • Use the Essential Lessons in the Teacher Guide to support instruction.

Where to find this report: Report Dashboards → Proficiency (groups) tab → Flexible Groups tab


4: Areas of Difficulty Report


Purpose: Identify where students are struggling.

What to look for:

  • Recent skills where students had difficulty
  • Patterns across your class

Action: Click Assign Practice to give targeted reinforcement.

Where to find this report: Report Dashboards → Proficiency (groups) tab → Areas of Difficulty tab
