Footsteps2Brilliance has a single sign on integration with Classlink Portal. Districts can activate single sign on for their Footsteps2Brilliance users by contacting support@footsteps2brilliance.com and sharing their district's Classlink Tenant ID


User accounts must be set up in Footsteps2Brilliance in advance. The single sign on will not provision new users. 


During the first authentication, users are matched between Classlink and Footsteps2Brilliance based on on the following:

  • One Roster (Roster server) Sourced ID
  • For staff, if we cannot match on sourced ID, we match on email address
  • For students, if we cannot match on sourced ID, we match on student ID

How will students log in with Classlink the first time?


Students will click the Footsteps2Brilliance icon in Classlink portal to log in.


If the students was included in OneRoster imports or Classlink account email address matches a Footsteps2Brilliance student user: 

The student will be successfully authenticated.



If there is no Footsteps2Brilliance student user with the sourced ID or student ID provided by Classlink:

The student will be prompted to log in one time on Footsteps2Brilliance in order to link accounts.



The following screen indicates that Classlink and Footsteps2Brilliance accounts have been successfully linked. After this screen, students can use Classlink to seamlessly log into Footsteps2Brilliance going forward.


How will teachers log in with Classlink the first time?


Teachers will click the Footsteps2Brilliance icon in Classlink portal to log in.


If the Classlink email address matches a Footsteps2Brilliance teacher user: 

The teacher will receive an email with a confirmation code from Footsteps2Brilliance.



IMPORTANT: Depending on your school district's email service, it may take a couple of minutes for this email to appear in your inbox. Watch for an email with subject: Footsteps2Brilliance - enable Classlink login.


The following screen indicates that Classlink and Footsteps2Brilliance accounts have been successfully linked. After this screen, teachers can use Classlink to seamlessly log into Footsteps2Brilliance going forward.



If there is NO Footsteps2Brilliance teacher user with the email address provided by Classlink:

The teacher will be prompted to log in one time on Footsteps2Brilliance in order to link accounts.


The teacher will enter Footsteps2Brilliance credentials. (See this article for help finding your credentials.)

The following screen indicates that Classlink and Footsteps2Brilliance accounts have been successfully linked. After this screen, teachers can use Classlink to seamlessly log into Footsteps2Brilliance going forward.



Note: Classlink and Footsteps2Brilliance accounts can only be linked if the role in both systems match. For example, a "teacher" account in Classlink can be linked to a "teacher" account in Footsteps2Brilliance. By comparison, a "teacher" account in Classlink cannot be linked to an "administrator" account in Footsteps2Brilliance. Contact your system administrators if you encounter the following error. They will need to adjust your roles to match.
